Now I understand why my family didn't own a TV set for the first 5 years or so of my life.

Also the official Animal House spinoff actually looks even worse than the shameless unofficial one.

TWO unofficial spinoffs. Brothers and Sisters was the Super Bowl lead-out program for 1979, setting a trend for networks debuting shows they had highly unrealistic faith in.

this made me really sad

God damn, what a complete waste of time

This is like the Rosetta Stone of the Reagan Revolution.

Highcliffe Manor: Ernie Hudson spotted.

Love it.

Not shown: Norman Lear's Mr. Dugan, basically the "Maude becomes a congresswoman" episodes rewritten for a black male lead. The show was renamed twice, recast once, then previewed for the Congressional Black Congress to such success that the show was cancelled by CBS three days before its debut.

I honestly wonder how bad a show is when Brooklyn Stereotypes: The Sitcom at least makes the schedule.

Most if not all of the Mrs. Colombo episodes are on this channel in decent quality:

What I find amazing is every one of these shows have at least 1 actor/actress that I recognize and went on to much, much, much better things.

Wow, I actually remember Salvage-1. Some British station re-ran it in the late 1980s, and I could never tell what the show was supposed to be about.

The standout here for me is the over-explained Turnabout intro narrated by Winnie the Pooh at 12:40. Seven episodes.

And I want to see Time Express. Vincent Price on a time-traveling train? That's worth more than four episodes!

I'm shocked 1979 audiences didn't go for a transexual body swap comedy where the wife and husband never switch back. I can't find that show on Youtube but I'm just assuming the wife is thrilled to have a dick and they just wrote that they love orgasming in their new bodies into every episode. I'm going to just tell myself they did that.

Also, I don't think Whodunnit is all that highly aware of Middle Eastern culture. Call it a hunch at 19:40.

DOCTORS PRIVATE LIVES is a hilarious title and it made me laugh out loud.

BJ and the Bear defies all description of horrible and should be shown on Rifftrax.

Co-ed Fever has one of the most annoying theme songs I've ever heard.

Marlon Brawndo - 2019-01-15

This is an amazing time capsule of utter shit.

Marlon Brawndo - 2019-01-15

They really just did...sing the entire plot to the series during these intros. What an amazing time that must have been to be alive and yet not alive at the same time, staring into an idiot box draining your IQ faster than Reagan's education policies.

I'm only at the 11 minute mark and I already count three of these intros that contain whipped cream jokes. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is as funny as spraying whipped cream on someone! Unless there's a pie involved. Oh shit, dare I watch further? PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS PIE HUMOR SOMEWHERE UP IN THIS BITCH.

TV exec from 1979: HOLY FUCK WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SHOWS ABOUT FRATERNITIES. MAKE ABOUT SEVEN MORE!!!

Underling: Uh sir, I don't know about that. I don't know if we can come up with enough wacky situations for that and-

TV exec from 1979: WHAT THE FUCK EVER, JUST GIVE THEM A FEW WACKY NAMES. OTTER! GOBO! PAPERCLIP! WHATEVAH!
