He definitely seemed like a genuinely good person. At the very least he said many good wise things that enriched our culture.

casualcollapse - 2019-02-12

yes he has all the appearances of one of the most kind caring people on this Earth. Fuck the people that want to smear his name and drag it through the dirt.

decoy - 2019-02-12

Are there such people? I've never heard a bad word said about the guy.

il fiore bel - 2019-02-12

Some people hated the idea that Mr. Rogers was telling kids they were special and loved just as they are, because they thought it was going to create a bunch of entitled little shits when they grew up.

Hazelnut - 2019-02-12

Those people were wrong. People who grew up on Mr Rogers are strong people.

I'd feel sorry for kids growing up now without him, but they have Steven Universe, so hey.

Fred was The Best Person (tm), and fuck anybody who says otherwise. They're clearly beyond saving.

Love you beta!

I was talking about the contingent of people accusing him of being a pedophile.. I'm not surprised other people have other shit to say about him

il fiore bel - 2019-02-13

I haven't heard about that, but it's rather sad that some people have reached that conclusion.

Herr Matthias - 2019-02-13

I've never heard any serious or credible allegations of Mr. Rogers being involved in kid-diddling, but that doesn't mean there can't be cracks coming from "edgy" high schoolers or hack comedians.

I grew up overseas and my Uncle Ed, who passed from this life when I was about eight, sent a goddamn crateload of VHS tapes filled with Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers, the Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact and just about any other PBS programming you could name.

My sister and I watched it constantly and I am eternally indebted to my Uncle Ed, may God rest his soul.

casualcollapse - 2019-02-13

That's awesome, super cool uncle and we also have the origin story for your name

Ocyrus - 2019-02-13

3-2-1 Contact was the shiznit!

il fiore bel - 2019-02-13

Didn't see that they played "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" on PBS a few days ago, but it does come on HBO now. They played the second half of this clip.
