The novelty company Archie McPhee sold vinyl dolls of this thing in the 1990s. That was before anyone could Google and confirm that it was indeed an authentic third party creation.

Old_Zircon - 2019-02-23 I remember that. I almost got one but I got a kyonshi boxing puppet instead.

Old_Zircon - 2019-02-23 Oh, if you click through to the original video, there's a link to Archie McFee in the description - they still sell Bibo stuff.
Not the same since they started to gt stuff custom manufactured in the late 90s, though - Archie McFee was all about the weird warehouse overstock and random imported plastic junk. Once they started making the nun finger puppets into kind of a mascot and stocking in-house designed nun stuff and switched back to glossy catalogs from newsprint around '93, it was all downhill from there.
But for a few years it was an important part of my childhood. I still wish I'd had the money to get the $8 overstock Dune action figures.

Old_Zircon - 2019-02-23 Oldschool Archie McFee was like wandering into a random theater in Portland in '96 and ending up at the premiere of Crock: The Motion Picture with the entire cast and their families. Newschool Archie McFee is like watching Portlandia.
P.S. BETAMAXED I STILL NEED YOU TO HARASS JON RAYMOND AND/OR JAMES YU FOR ME AND GET A COPY OF THIS, IT IS MY WHITE WHALE:

You are the only person I know who is both close enough and dedicated enough to weird movies to actually make this happen.

Old_Zircon - 2019-02-23 He was Bibo, wasn't he? You can admit it.

cognitivedissonance - 2019-02-23 I once saw him walking around downtown dressed as Eraserhead one Halloween. Alas, his girlfriend was dressed as the Girl Behind The Radiator.

Old_Zircon - 2019-02-25 Thanks, Beta. I used to go on about it in the early days of MNR a lot but that might have been before you made it there. I checked a long time ago and at least one of the people who made it was/is still in the area, so it could just be a matter of tracking them down and asking.
Get them to guest host a stream! You never know.
Pretty sure it's the first time I ever saw a butthole in cinema.
