i distinctly remember playing this in the movie theater lobby when i was 8 or 9 before seeing Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

I’m more impressed by the surfacing mechanic. I love that the movement and targeting rules change when you pop above the surface.

It's definitely pushing the NeoGeo hardware to its limits. There is a surprisingly large amount of background destruction animation.

I remember on the original cab the CRT smoothed the graphics out so that they almost looked like airbrushed cel animation rather than pixel art.

Also the stage starting at 22:32, especially the boss fight! I never got nearly that far in the arcade, I had no idea it got so ridiculous.
