Another one that doesn't hold up without the original hardware. This had one of those joysticks that spun around the outside of a circle rather than having X and 7 axes, just like the 720 cab did, and without that it kind of sucks.

At least that's how I remember it working, looking at photos now it's hard to tell.

Maybe it was just limited to X axis.

At any rate, this was really fun in the arcade even a decade after its release but when I've played it on MAME it has been kind of forgettable.

I remember the Commodore 64 port being fun.

By C64 port standards, anyway.

Yup, the arcade cab came with a weird 64 way joystick. Great game, with one of the worst sequels ever! Time Pilot 84' sucks all the fun of this game right out! Almost as baffling as Rastan 1 (fucking excellent) and Rastan Saga 2 (worse graphics, worse music, sloppy controls and boring gameplay).
