I've only spent a week there but I really liked what I saw of it. I've heard there's been a ton of gentrification and displacement in the last decade, though, just like everywhere else.
I don't think I ever saw the sign- on, just the sign off, 'Always look on the bright side of life'. This was our Dr. Who station, and lots of science programs in the earlier years.
It broadcast in black and white for years after most stations were colorcasting.
