You just got me to watch an advertisement so kudos for Burger King. Hbomberguy has gotten me to be a lot more aware of outrage marketing and in this case it worked for at least you. Reserving 5 or 1 stars until I decide how I feel about that

If companies want to do educational PSAs for goodwill...fine. I can be aware it's cynically motivated, but still not hate it more than any other advertisement.

But this isn't a PSA, it's a music video trying to get people to buy "Unhappy Meals" that trivialize mental health issues while their hashtags and product are promoted rather than any helpful information. And whether they get positive or negative attention, people are talking about them.

I would say this is the nadir, but let's be real, it'll just keep getting worse. Five for evil.

I think we're still in the early stages of this trend. Don't forget that anything co-opted by marketing will be reflexively hated by the generation coming up around it, so there's a decent chance that today's 10 year olds will grow up to hate 'giving a shit about social issues' the same way I hate 90's Xtreme Edge.

The Unhappy Meal was one of the inventions that Dr. Forrester made. How far are we from seeing a real-life version of Johnny Longtorso?

Given that Burger King is now in the same family of fast-food chains as Tim Hortons and Popeyes, I expect TH to pull the trigger on a Roll Up the Rim to Go Fuck Yourself campaign.

If I was out driving and I saw someone with a Yaaas Meal, I would feel morally obligated to run them over.

The guy just pitched a $400 phone for getting ghosted. Doesn't he know how many whores that would buy? He deserves everything he gets.

“The greatest hazard of all, losing one’s Whopper, can occur very quietly in the world, as if it were nothing at all. No other loss can occur so quietly; any other loss - a packet of mustard, a napkin, French fries, a Tinder date, etc. - is sure to be noticed.” - Soren Kierkegaard

Most evil thing I've seen in a while.
