Maybe not as bleak as you think.

While China definitely fucked this up I'm not sure what else they can do at this stage. Putting people in mass hospitals just leaves everyone at risk to opportunistic infections.

I fear here the answer here will be "stay at home if you're sick. You won't be paid, and you might be let go, but you should stay home".
