Very good; but nothing tops the Johnny Cash montage.

Sarah Polley is fantastic (I always root for her because she is Canadian. She is also stacked). This movie was filmed very close to my house, so thumbs up to that.

a decent opening to a not so decent remake ot a very decent original. i hate it when a movies pulls out all it's goodness in the first five minutes, then leaves you bored with the same old shit for the next two hours.

Jimmy Labatt - 2007-06-17

I dunno man, I thought Ving Rhames was the tits in that flick.

But yes, the original DotD was much better. Still, I thought the remake was actually very good (I'm going to try and forget about 300)

yeah i wish it had the Johnny Cash montage too, but it didnt. Ce la vie (or muerte).

This is a badass apocalypse sequence.

Also, I like that they excised all the stupid "consumers are zombies" social commentary from the remake.

omghelldamnfart! I must watch this!!!

kingarthur - 2007-06-18

Romero without social comentary is the arm without the hammer, pal. Or the hammer without the sickle. Whatever. I actually missed the social commentary.

Camonk - 2007-06-30

Oh, that must be why Land of the Dead sucked so hard. Bring on more not-Romero movies for me, then.

Pillager - 2011-05-28

Wherever you are now Camonk, I hope there are good therapists.

"This movie sucked because it didn't make me feel superior to sheeple consumers who shop at malls"

Some people are truly retarded.

gambol - 2007-07-02

The first 15 minutes of this film alone are enough to secure it a position among the upper echelons of horror movies. Seeing it in the theatre for the first time hit as hard as any movie I've seen, save perhaps the beginning of Saving Private Ryan.

I remember being genuinely freaked out the first time I saw this scene. Really well done.
