I saw this on that late-night weird videos show they used to have on VH1 or MTV. It freaked me out but kind of made me dazed and sleepy too. I hadn't seen anime yet or at least I didn't make the connection between "Vampire Hunter D" and those hideous things (and I surely didn't know what kigurumi was yet. thanks, POE).
