If I recall, Washington Post and NY Times reported blood was coming from the right ear; the man also may have had additional lacerations.

Blood is coming from his ear because his skull is almost certainly fractured. He's showing the signs severe trauma to the brainstem (feet pointing down and toes in, left arm up with hand down). Most people his age do not survive those injuries.

Currently he's reported as being in stable but serious condition. That just means he isn't getting worse. There are reports that he's aware and lucid, but they seem to be attributed to the police, who I consider to be less than useless sources of information on this.

Thank you for clearing that up, very serious injury.. It just seemed like so much so quick but I'm glad he's still holding on to life.. I hope he recovers and speaks up against this mistreatment.

Yeah, that's starting to feel like the old world's way of dealing with police brutality. This is tempered with more than 50% cynicism, but I really hope we're coming into a new way of dealing with police brutality. Laws and stuff.
