The difference is that we might wait a whole decade before we rehabilitate Trump's reputation ala Bush, because we are so repulsed by President Tom Cotton.

It depends how nastily Trump leaves office. If he loses the election I really do expect him to try to use the military to nullify the results and hold onto power. When that fails, then what? I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts a fight with Iran or China just to spite his generals, and to spite the country that rejected him. Putin will tell him that’s what a strong big-handed alpha would do.
