Old people yelling at each other about culture war stuff is a pretty good summation of American politics.

The mere notion of a golf-cart parade shows how screwed up the modern world is.

Many Republicans point out that Biden was part of the 1994 Crime Bill, yet ignore the fact that Trump would sign a bill just like it if it were presented to him.

Many Republicans, like Crackersmack and Ashtar.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-30

Biden wasn't just involved in the 1994 crime bill, he *wrote* it.

Yes, Trump would sign a bill like that. Because Trump is a normal (racist, vile, abhorrent) Republican president. The 1994 crime bill is what we should expect from a Republican.

But to be clear, you're asking me to vote for the guy that *wrote* a bill like that. And I'm supposedly a Republican for not wanting to do that.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-30

Interesting fact about the 1994 Crime Bill. IT WAS IN 1994! There were people not born yet that can now rent a car.

That doesn't mean it was a good thing, and it certainly doesn't mean that it didn't happen. It does mean that a whole lot of other things happened more recently. Most especially, Obama brought millions of African Americans into the political process, and this kind of tough on crime posturing isn't going to fly in the democrat party anymore. The reason why African Americans support Biden is because Biden's support of Obama's presidency is more recent than that other stuff.

Let's just say it: Obama's presidency is important because he was black. Its why he won the Nobel Prize. It's why white America went insane and elected Donald Trump.

Trump is not a normal republican president. He may not be more racist than your normal Republican President, or even the average president of the last hundred years, but there is a lot more than racism going on with Trump.

>>>>Just to be clear, you're asking me to vote for the guy that *wrote* a bill like that.

No, your vote is your own business. What I'd like, Sugar Smacks, is for you to stop being an idiot. Everyone, even Trump supporters, knows that Trump isn't a normal Republican president. And Time exists. Things that happened in 1994 are farther away than things that happened in 2010. Why dont you find something from this century to bring up over and over and over and over?

Crackersmack - 2020-06-30

The long-term effects of the 1994 crime bill weren't some mystery at the time it was voted on. This was a controversial bill passed with much debate. I could direct you to a video of a certain senator from Vermont (who was a rep at the time) where he clearly explained how this bill would lead to mass incarceration. Everybody knew what Biden was pushing for.

The cowardly Democrats attached it to the Violence Against Women Act so that anybody that voted against it would be smeared as being anti-women's rights. That happened with Joe Biden's guidance.

But yeah, let's look at recent events. Look at who is advising Biden. Look at who is funding Biden (he had a fundraiser at the Blackstone Group last week) and try to tell me that this guy has evolved or changed since 1994. He's been described for decades as the senator that represents the credit card industry, and that's who he still is.

Biden is an exceptional threat that represents a marked step to the right for the Democratic Party, even after they have been steadily marching right for years. And Trump *is* a normal Republican. He's a less-polished version of Mitt Romney that has probably caused less damage to society over the course of his life than Romney has.

An election analysis on June 29th 2020;

Right now, Joe Biden is looking great. He has 248 electoral votes just about locked up, to Trump's 204. And Biden leads polls in swing states. 10 points ahead in Michigan, 8 points in Pennsylvania, 8 in Wisconsin.

Don't get too excited. There are four months left. The GOP slime machine is powerful, surgical, effective, experienced. Also incredibly well financed. Biden has some weaknesses that could be easily exploited. If they find one good avenue of attack, watch those swing state leads crumple. If you are certain that Trump still cannot pull out a win in 2020, you are just wrong.

Anyway, Trump is just a demagogue and figurehead. Even if he keels over dead tomorrow the party that birthed him and rallied behind him remains. So does systemic racism and accelerating wealth inequality. Another Trump, probably younger, smarter, less narcissistic and a lot less incompetent, will emerge. This is America baby, don't kid yourself.

It’s important that everyone that wants trump out show up and vote, no matter how liberal a state you live in.

His loss must be historically massive. Because

A) fuck him, let’s stomp on his delicate ego.

B) he will probably go down clawing and screaming, so his margin of loss must be so gigantic as so remove any thoughts of “MOST RIGGED ELECTION IN HISTORY” from all but his most delusional supporters.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-30

...and we're gonna accomplish this historically huge margin by rallying behind this creepy old rapist that basically nobody actually vote for in the primary.

Old_Zircon - 2020-06-30

Don't forget the part at 1:12 where the protestor yells "nazi racist pigs" and the woman in the golf cart yells back "we resemble that remark and we love it!"

Libs pwned I guess.

exy - 2020-06-30

Apparently it took WH aides THREE FUCKING HOURS to reach this fucker to tell him to take it down, because he was golfing and didn't feel like bringing his phone along. Why some SS guy didn't carry it for him, I couldn't say.

exy - 2020-06-30
