countdown to ashtar/crackersmack throwing up defense for their big wet boy in 3...2...1...

Crackersmack - 2020-08-11

Nah Trump's a moron, but we all knew that in 2016 and he still won anyway.

The cognitive decline issue will not go the way that you want it to, but at this point we might as well just send it. Fully commit to just crashing this thing into the rocks.

Hazelnut - 2020-08-11

To be honest, saying the pandemic ended WWII is stupid, but not as stupid as Biden's recent comment that made it sound like he thought the Black community isn't diverse. The real difference isn't in the severity of the short clips, it's that

a) Unlike Trump, Biden apologises and corrects himself afterwards

b) Neither "gaffe" compares to the sheer narcissism, hate, and horror of Trump's hourlong AXIOS interview (http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=176939). That wasn't some accidental misquote, that was an obscene train wreck.

Gmork - 2020-08-11

yeah but haven't you heard bIdEn aNd tRuMp aRe pRaCtiCalLy tHe sAmE tHiNg?

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

Love that we are facing an apocalyptic climate crisis, an unprecedented economic crisis, a global pandemic, widespread civil unrest, a brutal police state crack down, greater inequality than 1789 France, a failing health care system that kills and immiserates tens of thousands of us a year, etc., and we have a choice between a demented rapist running on a quasi-fascist platform and a demented rapist running on a "let's keep doing the stuff that caused all of this" platform, both of whom are bankrolled by the people profiting off our national decline, and poelibsquad has chosen to focus their obsessive anger and outrage at... Bernie Bros. So much so that you bring it up constantly, unprompted. Very cool!

SolRo - 2020-08-11

At the end of the day the only accusation of sexual assault against biden is from one unhinged person with very dubious political motives, whose accusation copy-pasted the exact thing trump bragged about doing.

The fact you keep hanging on to that in a desperate attempt to paint biden as a serial rapist stalking the halls of Washington shows just how deluded you are.

also your description is "but haven't you heard bIdEn aNd tRuMp aRe pRaCtiCalLy tHe sAmE tHiNg?"

Pillager - 2020-08-11

https://www.businessinsider.com/joe-biden-allegations-women-2020-c ampaign-2019-6

8 women, Solro. Eight.

#MeToo R.I.P.

Crackersmack - 2020-08-11

Well there's the one credible accusation of rape, and there are multiple accusations of inappropriate conduct, and then there's all the videos...

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

Tara Reade had about as much corroborating accounts from people she told about this in the past (Lynda LaCasse, Lorraine Sanchez, Collin Moulton, the Larry King call, her ex-husband's divorce filing, several anonymous sources) as one could hope for in a case like this. Biden was also accused by multiple women of inappropriate touching, and has done so repeatedly on camera, as anyone with functioning eyes can see.

Watching democrats smear a credible accuser and kick #metoo and "believe women" to the gutter the second it's politically inconvenient has been unbelievably stomach churning.

SolRo - 2020-08-11

So now you’re equating Biden being too touchy with people to rape?

betabox - 2020-08-11

So, because Tara Reade repeatedly lied, it becomes the truth?

I guess that's the logic I'd expect from a Trump supporter.

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

She has more corroboration than Christine Blasey Ford did. All the "discrediting" stuff is run of the mill rape apologia.

If you ever wanted to understand how Trump supporters can believe obviously contradictory things, and rationalize away any behavior in their chosen leader... I think you've got your wish.

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

"Come on, man. I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters, Jack."
- Joe Biden

teethsalad - 2020-08-12

are you twelve? politicians are terrible people, almost universally. this is news to you? you have a choice between bad, and less bad. you've acknowledged this in other posts. bernie's off the ballot. that's how primaries work. we all should have worked harder to get him on the ticket, but here we are, and we can either throw up our hands and declare ourselves too pure for this planet, or vote for the group of assholes that will at least move the ball somewhat forward for all those marginalized groups you proclaim your heart bleeds for so consistently. "solve all the problems immediately with zero unintended consequences" isn't on the ballot this year, or any year in human history, for that matter

Crackersmack - 2020-08-12

Man this argument just got a whole lot harder to make now that Kopmala is on the ticket, voting for Biden/Harris is pretty clearly voting in favor of mass incarceration and un-accountability for brutal police.

SolRo - 2020-08-12

Ok you’re definitely a republican troll

ashtar. - 2020-08-12

Yeah, you don't get to claim to be reluctantly voting for the lesser evil and then react to objective facts about his record like you're 10 and someone said your dad's a pussy.

Pillager - 2020-08-12

Joe Biden lied saying he got arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela.

He lied saying the NAACP had supported him in every single one of his races when, in fact, the NAACP as a nonprofit can’t support anybody in any race...

“McDonald’s makes you all sign non compete contracts that you cannot go across town to try to get a job at Burger King.”

July 22, 2020 in a SEIU roundtable discussion

"No U.S. presidents elected before Donald Trump were racist."

&

My Fave: "You weren't allowed to own a cannon during the Revolutionary War as an individual."

Sorry, I'll believe 8 wome versus Senile Joe who plagiarized speeches & lied about his law school class ranking.

Try a +vote up on this so it could be on the site

"Yeah, you don't get to claim to be reluctantly voting for the lesser evil and then react to objective facts about his record like you're 10 and someone said your dad's a pussy."

oh you sweet summer child, someday someone's gonna come and take the shine off that pollyanna horseshit you've bought into wholesale

Cena_mark - 2020-08-11

Trump supporters always bring up Biden's flubs.

Hazelnut - 2020-08-11

Trump and his Don't Vote trolls have spent all year trying to tar Biden with Trump's own personal failings: he's senile, he's racist, he's a sex pest, he'll destroy the welfare state.

A few more weeks and Crashtar will be saying Biden has fake hair and tiny hands.

And then when called on it he'll revert to his favourite tearstained rant about liberal privilege.

Crackersmack - 2020-08-11

Biden does have fake hair tho

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

I guess the nice demented old guy who tells you stories about Corn Pop and calls you Jimmy even though that's not your name is preferable to the mean demented old guy who accuses the hispanic CNA of stealing his meds. But, it'd be nice to have a president who could, like, drive a car.

SolRo - 2020-08-11

but haven't you heard bIdEn aNd tRuMp aRe pRaCtiCalLy tHe sAmE tHiNg?

Crackersmack - 2020-08-11

Ashtar that's what the most recent episode of Chapo was about, somebody said America is choosing between two different ways of sundowning; we can be the angry, belligerent, and senile old man that fights the orderlies in the nursing home, or we can just be brain-dead with a smile talking about how much we love ice cream.

Do we face what we really are, or do we make ourselves numb to ignore it?

ashtar. - 2020-08-11

We've mostly ruled out soberly facing reality and doing something about it, so we're just deciding what sort of delusion we're going to slip into. The choice of candidates is really kind of appropriate.

Solro: Maybe I'm taking you too seriously, here, but I literally just said how they were different. Maybe you could try responding to things I've said?

Gmork - 2020-08-12

so which side is trying to elect Qanon to congress/senate positions again? Remind me.

Crackersmack - 2020-08-12

What's the difference between Qanon people and Russiagate people? Except that Russiagate people might actually start a war with their hallucinations.

SolRo - 2020-08-12

“Russiagate people” haven’t killed anyone

You dumb fucking idiot

Crackersmack - 2020-08-12

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Criticism from Russiagate people in the media may have pushed Trump to take more aggressive stances with Russia and it's proxies than he would have otherwise, for instance he has attacked Syria several times for ? reasons.

Nominal - 2020-08-12

It's hilarious that Trump supporters expect anyone to believe they actually give a fuck about Tara Reade.

But not as hilarious as Ashtersmack accusing everyone of voting from "privilege" when it's about life or death. Literally hundreds of thousands are dying because of Trump & Republicans ineptitude and deliberate cruelty, but he thinks we should reelect them to send some moral message against an extremely dubious sexual assault allegation from over 20 years ago.

That's the kind of zero stakes moral purity you'd expect to see in a Williamsburg trust funder. Throwing in for Biden to kick out Trump is a position of privilege? Fuck right the fuck off.

ashtar. - 2020-08-12

Hi Nominal,

My search function found two instances of the word "privilege" on this page, both of which are in your post. I don't typically use the word, due to its over-use and tendency to provoke an emotional response. I've also said repeatedly that you should probably vote for Biden if you live in a swing state. I've never been to Williamsburg and part of my job involves cleaning bathrooms and dealing with homeless methheads.

But please, continue arguing with whomever you're arguing against. You show 'em, little buddy! Go get that bad man!

Crackersmack - 2020-08-12

I'm willing to accept that Biden may have forgotten about the rapes he committed due to his advanced senile dementia, but that doesn't make it OK.

ashtar. - 2020-08-12

"ineptitude and deliberate cruelty" right, the guy whose central policy position seems to be opposing universal healthcare in the middle of a pandemic will save us from deliberate cruelty in the government.

I have no doubt a Biden administration would be more competent at dealing with the pandemic. But, the push to reopen and the reluctance to do the obviously effective thing–pay people to stay the fuck home! we could still do this! cases are higher than ever! what the fuck!–is based on the economic interests of the rich. The same fucking people bankroll Biden, and he's spent his entire career serving them.

Again, I have trouble understanding why "he would be a little better, but still horrible" is at all a controversial position or evokes such an emotional response from supposed progressives.

SolRo - 2020-08-12

Because at this point the only difference between your sect and republican astroturfers is that they get paid.

Crackersmack - 2020-08-12

I *do* doubt that a Biden administration would handle the pandemic better. I think we could see the same daily death tolls, but they would be reported differently. Look at how the media treated Obama's mass foreclosures as an "economic recovery", that's what would happen here. Ashtar is right; the same people bankroll both major candidates. The same agenda is in effect either way.

SolRo - 2020-08-12

Shut the fuck up

Gmork - 2020-08-13

Qanon supporters exist. Russiagate isn't so much a group of people as it is an established fact as evinced in the Mueller report, which i advise reading sometime.

The complete cognitive dissonance it takes to conflate qanon extremists with the random selection of progressives that read and understood the Mueller report is pretty fucking severe.

Q-pilled or genuinely this ignorant? Does it really matter at this point?

Crackersmack - 2020-08-13

Qanon and Russiagate both have thin threads of truth at their core, that's how they got traction. Both stories have been grasped onto by increasingly desperate, low-information people who have turned them into fantastical grand conspiracies with basically zero real evidence behind them.

ashtar. - 2020-08-14

I've been accused of being a russian bot on this very same website where I've been posting for like 20 years, but you go off on how it's all very rational and objective and not a paranoid conspiracy theory to explain away all the bad things, king.

Nominal - 2020-08-11

Crackersmack sliips his well-worn DVD into the player, ready for his daily ritual of rewatching SLC Punk! He laughs, he cries, he fist pumps.

But most of all, he is once again outraged when Matthew Lillard "sells out" at the end. He rises, shouting, "Not me! Never me!" into the heavens.

teethsalad - 2020-08-11

wish i'd saved my stars

Binro the Heretic - 2020-08-11

Trump's superpower is that even when he fucks up, it creates a distraction from his deliberate evil.
