I am intimately familiar with this area. I worked at NASCAR Plaza for years, and helped open the Hall of Fame (at 5 minutes in, a woman is walking around the area where I used to smoke). Later, I went to that courthouse so often (custody drama) that I felt like I had an assigned parking spot.

It is a dead corner of the city, corporate bullshit and no people. Marshall Park is lifeless. The Hall of Fame is poorly attended and adds nothing but a crappy Buffalo Wild Wings. Across the street was the only worthwhile place, a decent soul food restaurant, usually overrun with banking types.

Good job, Charlotte! Have not been back in years, and not planning on it. If you have to go uptown, go eat at Mert's then get the fuck out.
