Seems what they get them for is the chat logs more than anything else; using a computer to solicit a minor for sex (in all of the transcripts, the decoy states an age of minority at some point and wait for the other one to be the one to initiate the sex angle). Them showing up at the house just sort of seals it in terms of intent, and makes it easy to arrest them.

It seems like it is entrapment at least to some degree. Even though these people aren't the police, by coordinating so closely with them they are certainly acting like agents of the police. To my shame I've watched a couple of these and it seems like a large percentage of those who plead not guilty get off. (har)
