Crash won the Jury prize at Cannes and was nominated for the Golden Palm. I made buckets of cash in the states and was on nearly every top ten list that year. It was not, in any way, shape or form under-appreciated.
I love Cronenberg, but Crash blew goats. Maybe if he had used a good actor for the lead instead of someone whose only real talent is looking effeminate and inbred it would have been watchable.
True, but every Cronenberg afficionado I've met places it near the bottom of their list, when arguably it's much a more important entry in his filmography than The Dead Zone or eXistenZ.
