The Bonzos only real big US hit, it was made the centerpiece of their first American LP. One of the tightest, most skilled comedy bands ever, right up there with Spike Jones' crew or most of Zappa's groups.

It helped that the song was produced by Paul McCartney under the name Apollo C. Vermouth, kind of an open secret at the time. The US LP was a bastardized, resequenced version of their second UK album, "The Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse," with "Urban Spaceman" tacked on.

If anyone's interested, spiffy new UK reissues of all the albums just came out last week, and can be gotten really cheap even in the US.
