The swinging shot onto the back wall is key.

The Mothership - 2023-12-16

Absolutely. Best part.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-08-31

I think Reba is hot.

Syd Midnight - 2007-08-31

MILFs with guns, for the win

ashtar. - 2007-10-04

Somewhere, G. Gordon Liddy slowly wipes away a single tear.

EvilHomer - 2007-08-31

Someone needs to link the Burt Gummer tag.

dueserpenti - 2007-08-31

See? Guns are necessary to the maintenance of a free society. Free of underground graboid monsters.

gambol - 2007-08-31

This movie is so incredibly under-rated.

yoyo1 - 2007-08-31

I just watched it yesterday, and yeah. This movie stands the test of time.

Jimmy Labatt - 2007-08-31

I think I loved this scene so much because it was one of the first times I thought secondary characters in a horror were going to die painfully and they ended up kicking ass. Oh yeah and the guns.

EvilHomer - 2007-08-31

I thought he was going to die too, and yet, three films and a short lived TV series on, he's the only character still around.

kingarthur - 2007-08-31

Burt Gummer always has a plan. ALWAYS.

zatojones - 2007-08-31

8 bore knockin' at your door

Crucifried - 2007-08-31

Always keep every single one of your guns loaded.

Species - 2008-06-23

hahahah

shutup_Aragorn - 2009-01-09

they should have finished him off with a staplegun

athodyd - 2007-08-31

Who keeps a flare gun on the same wall as your actual guns?

Camonk - 2007-09-01

Complete badasses.

Screwtape - 2007-09-04

Perfect example of a movie that is far better using models rather than CGI, even with today's technology.

On the other hand, a few of the green screen shots with the monster are pretty bad.

FABIO2 - 2007-10-02

I'm thinking CGI has forever ruined monster movies.

glasseye - 2007-09-05

Way better than the sequels.

tamago - 2007-09-16

The only thing that bugged me about this movie is that one annoying kid (the older son) didn't get eaten. Other than that, this movie is gold.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-06-03

I would have rather seen his retarded, hiding-five-feet-off-the-ground father survive, it's true. There could have been some major grief-guilt on his part, would have added another dimension to the movie, I suppose. Then after that, they could have killed him off too, for the sake of Horror Movie Justice.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2007-09-16

Exactly what Jimmy Labatt said. Also, "MAGAZINE! YEAH!" was when I realized those two side characters were going to put that worm's head up on the mantlepiece.

This movie is still one of my all time favorite horror-action-movie-trying-to-be-serious-but-not-overly-serious-wh ich-makes-it-actually-kinda-damn-funny movies.

FABIO2 - 2007-09-17

If your movie has Victor Wong as a shopkeeper chances are it's pretty kick ass. Having him play a grandfather has the reverse effect (3 Ninjas, Joy Luck Club).

Sad Victor Wong fact: He died of a heart attack the day after 9/11 =(

Syd Midnight - 2007-10-05

See Euros, this is why Americans love guns. Just in case.

Gwago - 2007-10-27

Fuck the magazine, just grab another fucking gun.

Vicious - 2007-11-08

Maybe she just likes that gun, Gwago.

Syd Midnight - 2008-04-09

I'm proud to have updated this link.. this makes me feel.. special.. about rural America.

Vicious - 2008-05-11

I would like to extend my personal thanks for the update.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-06-03

Syd, I wish I could somehow purchase, for you, a vanity plate reading "UZI 4 U"

I could seriously buy this movie if it was in the used discount DVD bin.

ebola - 2008-07-25

Love this movie. Bonus star for shooting two hand guns at the same time.

I also used to love that they found a way to get the hot chick in her panties.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-08-24

Barbed wire is a friend to us all.
=D

quantumcreep - 2009-04-03

It's one of my earliest memories. No lie.

Syd Midnight - 2008-09-17

This latest resubmit is much shorter than the original.. there's no suspense.. but it has the good part, and the punchline. If anyone can find the full version, try to submit that plz.

I hate whoever keeps pulling the full clip from Youtube. I like to show this off to my foreign friends as a triumph of insane American gun nut survivalist planning. This would have been a deadly graboid attack in most civilized nations.

"If ya need it.. and ya don't got it.. you'll be singin' a different tune."

B_Ko - 2008-09-25

The Professional Ass-Kicking Gun.

thebaronsdoctor - 2009-03-20

Hard to believe Michael Gross got his start playing the dad on Family Ties

joelkazoo - 2009-05-13

I love this movie! That is all.

(Oh, also agree Reba's HAWT!)

Lies, lies, LIES! - 2009-10-05
