Why the hell would they not include that? Octorock!
I remember seeing the first and the second last part of this in a television version of Goonies (that's where Chunk's tale of a seamonster fits in). Plus: hey!! The pinchers of peril have a precedent! Awesome.
I remember seeing the octopus scene on TV before too.
It would have ruined the whole movie. It was a good thing they were deleted.
They didn't include the Goonies oath scene on the DVD. That pisses me off. Still.. octopus.
Fact: 99% of deleted scenes were dropped for a reason.
Whoever deleted these scenes made a good job.
