If you haven't seen the restored DVD version of this I can't recommend it highly enough.

I just watched "Duck, you sucker" the other night. It's a really good Leone picture that hasn't had a decent English language cut up until now.

It's not as good as this movie, but I'm not sure that anything is.

...and yeah. IIRC "Duck, you sucker" supposedly went through some production issues. The versions I've seen feel sloppy compared to his other work. So if there were production issues, I dunno if a "good cut" exists. Still agree that it is worth checking out. It's also one of his more depressing films imo (goes from comedy to tragedy pretty quick).

Good find! This is by far my favorite scene of the entire movie. The way the shots get more and more dizzying as his search becomes increasingly frantic is bad ass.

Agreed. I get goose bumps every time I see this. It is the greatest part of the greatest movie ever.

In fact, why the hell don't I have this on DVD. Better yet I'm getting the 32MM, a projector and just going to sit in my basement and watch this entire movie on loop for the rest of my life.

That's how bad ass this movie is too me.

One of the great films of our time, no question.

I wish I could comment on the aesthetic merits of this film, but all I can think about right now is Metallica.

My old film teacher would like to point out that this scene was done entirely with stationery cameras -- no cameras on tracks, and of course no handicam.

One of the greatest films of all time. It's surreal.

My favorite song on one of the best soundtracks put to film. Ennio Morricone defined what westerns sounded like.

Christ, that music!

Whenever I find myself looking for something frantically, this song comes on in my head.
Amazing movie.

When I say that Eli Wallach is the best part of this movie, you know that is saying something. This movie has about a million best parts.

The liner notes from the soundtrack I bought consisted solely of three extreme closeups of the Blondie's, Angel Eyes' and Tuco's eyes.
