pistol caliber = carbine/submachine gun

athodyd - 2007-09-14

Also looking at the guy's site it would seem it's not so much true full-auto as making it easier to pull the trigger as quickly as possible.

Diogenes - 2007-09-14

I'm sure it's comforting to our various state and federal peace officers that the rubber band doesn't make the assault weapon a true fully-automatic weapon. I mean, the rate of fire isn't at its theoretical optimum. You'd have to visit a machinists shop or buy a special kit at a gun show to do that.

This trick isn't excusive to pistol-caliber carbines, but it probably makes the recoil more managable.

lolcoolj - 2007-09-14

I noticed how they don't wrap their hands around the grip, maybe just the thumb and just put pressure on the trigger to get the bump back fire. It probably won't get the same result if your trigger finger isn't loose. I like the one with the M1 Garand as well.

TeenerTot - 2007-09-14

Interesting workaround.
I still don't get why a civillian needs an automatic weapon, though.

Smellvin - 2007-09-14

I'm fairly certain that the ATF ruled recently that any device used to aid bumpfiring can be construed as illegal. Doing it with a finger alone is still fine.

Also, the reason civilians need automatic weapons is the same reason that people "need" Winnebagos, 5000 square foot houses, or ass dildos: because they want them. In a free society, for a government to ban something, it must prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that said item is unequivocally dangerous or harmful of its own accord -- not that people don't "need" them. Beyond that, a government that fears its citizens is far more preferable than a citizenry that fears its government.

Jingoro - 2007-09-14

The government is not afraid of this fellow. The government has F-22s. I, on the other hand, am afraid of him, and am happy to vote that such a weapon is dangerous.

smoothbrain - 2007-09-14

Yeah all that technology is sure working to stop soldiers from getting killed in Iraq. Oh wait, no it's not.

HURF BLURF DUH - 2007-09-14

You know what's even better? A society where neither the government nor the citizenry fears the other. You represent the ever-growing portion of the American public who has given up on such a thing being possible. Your cynicism it what makes the incredible potential for deadly violence in our country grow every day. Congrats.

Because the Russians are coming.

Smoothbrain says: "This apple sure is different from this orange. Oh wait no, they're identical."

When everyone in my city has an AK-47 and every block has a neighborhood mortar, the U.S. Government starts rolling tanks in, and some of us get Mighty Pissed-Off Enough to shoot at the soldiers, then I'll come back and tell you your comparison isn't a cartload of ridiculous horseshit.

FABIO - 2012-01-08

What is it with crazy gun nuts and goatees?

Roachbud - 2007-09-14

That'll be a much more effective weapon on the Day of the Rope

Gojira1000 - 2007-09-14

Yay, rednecks making mankiller toys even more dangerous. Hurrah for freedom!

kingarthur - 2007-09-15

I have no idea what hurfbkurf is trying to get across in his comment. Otherwise, this video could be the beginning of one epic office-supply fight.

Burnov - 2011-01-28

Bump-firing evolved.

Nice trick.
