Is the scorpion's stinger not penetrating or something? I can't see how the mice could stand that many stings if it was.

Seems like the fur protects it pretty well.
Grasshopper mice are pretty much immune to scorpion venom, interestingly. They really do roar, too, though it's more of a prolonged squeak. Adorable, though bloodthirsty little devils.
They just don't give a fuck.
