Actually the cheeto comment doesn't really work either. Nerd gamers of the cheeto-stained variety tend to play RPGs, where all they have to do is make sure their numbers are really, really big .. then select "attack". Fighting games require actual reaction time and skill, reading your opponent, reacting to their moves, etc.

It's a teaser, not a trailer. There is a distinct difference.

To clarify, I don't expect a "teaser" to come packed with revelations, but for a fighting game, would a glimpse of at least one new character have been too much to ask? Geez.

The thing is, there hasn't been a new major "Street Fighter" title since 1999. On top of this, Capcom treated their fighting game franchises, especially Street Fighter, like shit for the majority of the 2K's (at one point Capcom Japan practically threw the entire franchise away to Capcom USA). A new character or gameplay footage would have been great to see, I agree, but the fact that they announced doing this at all is a pretty big deal imo.

Plus the vid by itself is pretty cool.

Not directed at you FeeFi...but I don't understand all the random hate in the comments. I'm probably just really biased towards the series. Or maybe everyone hates this game series because they suck at it?

I think Ryu won that fight but I suppose we will never know. He is normally a very strong but silent type so the power just builds and builds within him. The last bit where he starts the blue fireball? You can usually do that over and over again in a regular game. Dime a dozen - Ryu has plenty of fireballs that he can do without ever getting tired. But in this video you can see him powering up a super fireball. He puts his whole being into this one statement that says: "Behold! My conviction! My soul manifest! May it be your final consumption! Begone, for I wish not to fight any longer but to vanquish once and for all eternity those who stand before me!"
