I think MTV had already far surpassed its coolness by the time it started polluting our lives with Jagged Little Pill.

It was a very useful way to look at girls in bikinis dancing though.

I remember when the Canadian counterpart, Much Music was cool: they had this grunge era VJ who'd spend all his allotted time making fun of the audience / bad videos, while hosting Ren and Stimpy marathons -- now they just have these "super cool, super hot" model fucks, with glazed over eyes, regurgitating words from a teleprompter.

Everybody today seems to be about playing it safe and doing what's proven to work, while attempting to appear cutting edge...

meh, the COOLEST mtv commercials were the ones with Toby Huss

does ANYONE remember those? He did the sinatra ones, as well as some other craziness.
