The Wiz is one of the most boringly staged musicals on film. Also, the ugliest. I'm assuming that MJ has a big prosthetic on his chin, or was he really that chunky for a split second?

i thought i dreamed this movie as a kid.

My after-school musical in sixth grade was The Wiz. I played a breakdancing graffiti munchkin and the "mean ole" Lion. Our 52 year old music teacher cast herself as Dorothy, Michael Jackson was a chunky Irish girl, and the only black kid in the entire class was working the lights the whole show.

I was rather hoping to forget all that.

Why would you have Michael Jackson do a number in a musical and not let the man dance in it, seriously, it's Michael Jackson.
