Dell as the Bloat Court Jester.

Innocent Bystander - 2007-12-12

nerdy nerdy nerdy.

nerdy.

and geeky too.

citrusmirakel - 2007-12-12

When I clicked play, it asked me if I want to install a program called WhenUSave? Does that help YouTube videos run better?

NeitherHerenorThere - 2007-12-12

You've got adware! Probably want to look at that.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-12-12

Indignant Computer Nerd.

boner - 2007-12-12

I guess their heart is in the right place but there are careless mistakes. Calling the MacBook "iBook", the chart that's supposed to be in minutes says "seconds", Microsoft Office is 0, not 0-0 (though you can't legally use the Home edition for work)

Mole Wax - 2007-12-12

Lame, pointless, stupid.

I gave it five stars anyway because it's tradition.

Stog - 2007-12-12

Mmmmm. Computer spyware nerdery.

glasseye - 2007-12-12

Macs are for retards and grandmothers.

Crucifried - 2007-12-13

Damn, you got me. I guess I'm either a retard or a grandmother. No one can fault your flawless logic, douche-hound.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2007-12-13

As a guy who desperately wants a Mac and loves Macs for their media superiority, I give this -1 because most of these problems can be circumvented by picking a nice custom built model from your local PC shop.

I've seen listings around my neighborhood for less then 0 for very functional and bloat-free PCs from mom and pop shops and hobbyists alike.

boner - 2007-12-13

Our local computer shops apparently give you pirated copies of Windows and Office to stay profitable. But even the morons at the big box retailer (with high school student "technicians") may do it if it keeps a customer happy.

charmlessman - 2007-12-13

I build computers for a living from parts. I can build you a computer for less than 0 with brand new parts (though not top of the line) and 100% legal software. I get the parts at a discount from the computer shop due to the volume. But the computer shop can build the same PC for less because they can get the parts wholesale. So no, a 0 pc from a local shop need not have pirated software.

This video is a prime example of why whenever I get a new PC from a big box manufacturer in front of me, I head directly for the Add/Remove programs window and start dumping ALLLLLLLLL that shit. The computers I build all have OEM versions of Windows. Just windows. That's it. Nothing else.

Syd Midnight - 2007-12-14

I figured that was a rite of passage for a new Windows system. You change the user settings from "retarded" to "sane", uninstall all the useless bundled software besides maybe Word, and slap on antivirus, firewall, and your personal favorite little utilities.

Take this whichever way you want, but after about the 10th time you set up a Windows re/install it all becomes second nature.

JimBeam - 2007-12-14

Media superiority is a reason to purchase things? You're worse than fifteen Hitlers.

Frank Rizzo - 2007-12-12

the video maker assumes the watcher is so plum retarded that he provides pronunciations. wow.

Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2007-12-13

SURCH WEIR

dancingshadow - 2007-12-13

The voice is hard to listen to. Happyfaces and checkmarks for ugly, confusing graphs. (The first chart acted as an unintentional legend or I would have no idea what the symbols ment.) And pronunciations provided that don't use phonetic symbols, but rather, his own made up respelling. Just bad all around.

mantang0 - 2007-12-13

I just bought three PCs from Dell. Not one piece of "bloatware". Also, what the fuck is TRAYHLWARE? Dumb cunts.

fluffy - 2009-06-22

That final "bloatware statistic" was a bit meaningless. Not to mention the comparing apples-to-oranges with install size (seeing as how Apples come with a hell of a lot of *useful* software installed) and calling the .Mac trial offer "trialware."
