This is my favorite video in a very long time. It's the scene Harmony Korine hopes to create but never quite achieves.

Camonk - 2007-12-26

I donno; I bet Santa's probably like that with his own family. He's like, Why didn't you wait for Santa?! I'm Santa!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2007-12-26

I think I've seen this family on COPS.

fluffy - 2007-12-26

Matt Moulton has certainly let himself go even further.

mouser - 2007-12-26

5 stars for "is he burried in garbage?"

Y'all are I think.

Enjoy - 2007-12-26

Yeah there's a baby we never see crying under the garbage.

Aelric - 2007-12-27

which grandpa stomps all over in his fit.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-26

"Bipolar shit"

a flaming monkey - 2007-12-26

It just doesn't get any better than that folks.

benchmark - 2007-12-26

Dear Dad,

Thanks for not being like this guy.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-12-26

I'm really glad my parents went to college and travelled outside of the United States.

1394 - 2007-12-26

"what just happened there?"

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-26

So, do you guys think this is fake? I can't decide.

svraz - 2007-12-26

wow

magical man - 2007-12-27

This just kinda made me sad :(

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-12-27

The gift of this video is in round 2. I thought it was over but then wham!

theFlu - 2007-12-27

I have to side with Grandpa -- they shouldn't have started Christmas without him [at 9am no less;] they should have taught their children a thing called "patience" - and it's because of their awful parenting (see 'baby in trash pile') that THEY ruined Christmas.
Grandpa had every right to fly into his righteous fury, considering there is apparently two husbands in the home, both unable to provide for their immediate family - nor to uphold the "sacred bond" of harmony during Christmas season.

I hope they grovel at the old man's feet, and do a better job of accommodating him next year.

5 stars for Santa

theFlu - 2007-12-27

ps. if they weren't so goddamn poor aka LAZY they could have sated their children's selfish needs with stocking stuffers, until the patriarch of Christmas had arrived.

Jeff Fries - 2007-12-27

I was waiting for him to call out the little man, then he did!

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-27

I read a few of the comments on Break. The guy holding the camera is the woman's brother (that's why they both called grandpa 'dad') and Shirtless in the kitchen is the husband.

Billy Buttsex - 2007-12-27

TheFlu? Talking sense??? Oh, this IS a merry Christmas!

AdamOfEden - 2008-03-17

funny, but i'm going to side with the fake camp.

Xenocide - 2007-12-27

Five stars for "I ain't never comin' back!" followed by him coming back ten seconds later.

waxeater - 2007-12-27

This seems really, really, really fake.

Enjoy - 2007-12-27

I'm not picking up any fake vibes at all.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-27

These are the fake vibes I picked up:

- The "Yaah!" when grandpa throws whatever-it-is at the camera man, and the "Good riddance!" line after grandpa leaves for the first time. These two exclamations sound badly acted.
- When grandpa comes in for round 2, I keep catching a smile on the sister/wife's face, even though she's supposed to be in tears. Since I'm not allowed to backtrack without having the entire video start over, I always miss that moment to pause.
- Nobody bothered to unearth the baby from the garbage. (This is believable though, because I have heard some truly nightmarish white trash horror stories from my neck of the woods.

waxeater - 2007-12-27

Nothing about the way grandpa and especially the husband are speaking seems natural, almost like very amateur local theater.

Cheese - 2007-12-27

Yeah, Dad's a pretty terrible actor, but not as bad as the cameraman, he gives it away.

The baby in the garbage line is pretty good though.

Hooper_X - 2007-12-27

Kind of fake, yeah, but the "alienjack" tag made me laugh.

uekibachi - 2007-12-27

oh my

h0yd3n - 2008-01-01

You hit it right on, Enjoy! Like a bad afterschool special, regardless of authenticity

MurgatroidMendelbaum - 2008-01-06

My new favorite Christmas catchphrase comes at 1:05 -

"Where's my present? Where's MY present?"
"You get some fuckin' coal, bitch!"

petep - 2008-01-21

This is not fake.

Gwago - 2008-02-13

Close your eyes and imagine he's a South Park character. IT WORKS.

DopeFiend - 2008-05-10

Fake. But awesome. See, with the ubiquity of the internet, a lot of people are developing some surprisingly hip senses of humor. I know folks like these, trailer people with a weird affinity for meta-humor.

craptacular - 2008-05-24

they're so nonchalant about the whole situation. "Good riddance!" spoken the way one might after shooing a pesky insect from one's home.

Robin Kestrel - 2011-07-08

I get the feeling they've seen dad on one of his many "bad days" quite a few times before, and are sort of resigned and numb to it.

Also, I don't see how people would think this is fake.

oogaBooga - 2008-06-03

Well let me tell ya I got a bit fat butt, and all y'all can kiss it!

oogaBooga - 2008-07-03

*big

Species - 2008-06-20

This is totally not fake. I've seen families like this in Dundalk, MD.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-08-01

If this is fake, it's a masterpiece.

If it's real, it's also a masterpiece.

Jupiter - 2008-10-08

Why is John Goodman in such a low-budget production like this? I thought his career was going fairly well...

FineFilter - 2008-12-02

"Kri-mus!"

kingofthenothing - 2009-01-18

"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO, LITTLE MAN?!"

Wombles - 2009-10-21

SHUT UP

I DON'T CARE

rad3xl - 2009-01-23

Hah hah hah!

Santa Claus just can't live among humans.

mumbly joe - 2009-05-07

i don't see how people can think this is fake.

the woman clearly is crying because crazy grampa santa mcdrunky ruined another christmas and shirtless boy is trying to comfort her.

i particularly liked how grandpa was choosing his words carefully in order to not swear in front of the kids in addition to "I AIN'T NEVER COMING BACK!!" followed by coming back.

hammsangwich - 2010-09-30

No shirt, no problem. JEEZUS DIN WARE NO GOTTDAM SHIRT IN THE MANGUR!
