It's not a Newfism at all. I grew up there and never heard that phrase once in 27 years.
Everything else you - theFlu - just said about NL and NS merely proves that you've never been to either one, or in fact probably ever even heard about them except for on the map of Canada you had to read those eight times you did grade six Social Studies.
I distinctly remember seeing this man in an instructional video. I've been partially educated by this man. What the hell was he in? This is going to drive me crazy.
