Still better than the commercial they ran last year:

So I'm not the only one who thought these were racist.

"Vin Gupta wants his company's Super Bowl commercials to take the cake, to walk away with ultimate recognition. In a word, he wants them to be … horrible.

Salesgenie.com is trying to win the dubious distinction of airing the "worst ad" during Super Bowl XLII Sunday evening on KTVI (Channel 2).

That would make back-to-back thumbs-down crowns for Salesgenie.com, a unit of InfoUSA Inc. of Omaha, Neb., that offers sales leads and direct-marketing services.

This year's three 30-second animated ads for Salesgenie — one will air during the pregame show — were produced on a relative shoestring of 0,000. As he did last year, Gupta — InfoUSA's chairman and chief executive — bypassed ad agencies and wrote the scripts himself."

If they want to make the worst ad possible they could do a little worse than this. Maybe have the indian guy's wife set herself on fire or something.

Aelric - 2008-02-04

i wish i could type in an alan arkin voice.

What I like best about these ads is that I can literally not imagine something being beneath the operators of Salesgenie based on them. Child slavery, terrorist financing, peeing on people - it all seems plausible.

According to Wikipedia, the owner of the parent of Salesgenie - infoUSA - is Vinod Gupta, an Indian immigrant who claims to write the scripts for each Salesgenie ad himself. Within the course of two paragraphs, I've completely changed my mind; that is adorable and I think Gupta is a fantastic person.

Hooper_X - 2008-02-04

Astonishingly bad. However, as they were INTENDED to be awful and stupid, they fail to be the worst ads of the night. (that'd be the one with Carlos Mencia, because Carlos Mencia.)

themilkshark - 2008-02-04

The animation is a decent 50's throwback style... The only humor to be found is the racism, intentional or not.

There were FAR worse Superbowl commercials, and they all cost millions more than this mediocre one.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-02-04

JETSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!

snothouse - 2008-02-04

I fail to see how these are racist.
The guy could have easily been white.

voodoo_pork - 2008-02-04

This and the Chinese Panda ad were both pretty bad.

Dummy Rum - 2008-02-05

Could be worse. At least he's not an incompetent tech support guy.

The Chinese panda one was actually racist.

svraz - 2008-02-05

I think this company owes poe tv some $$$.

Sean Robinson - 2008-02-05

Yeah, because of the millions in revenue calling their ads racist is generating.

BHWW - 2008-02-05

To what possible reason could it be people are finding this film racist?

BHWW - 2008-02-05

That's me badly attempting to approximate a stereotypical Indian accent (with slight mangling of English) in text, by the way.

Jeff Fries - 2008-02-05

Please to be explaining why this being racist

Screwtape - 2008-02-05

OH! This is a commercial by InfoUSA's Vin Gupta. Its not racist: he's an indian himself. Judging by the horribleness of the ads, I'm pretty sure he wrote them himself.

Sean Robinson - 2008-02-05

You at least feign that you read other people's comments, you self-centred twat.

baleen - 2008-02-05

grimetooth - 2008-02-05
