It's really easy to get delegates when your name is Barack Hussein Obama. I mean, I'm voting for him just because I feel sorry for black people and I hate America.

If only the subjects of these would ever listen

Obermann should hang himself.
OF COURSE people are voting for Obama because he's black. White people are voting for him because they're guilty and wanna feel good, but don't like reading about the issues. Black people usually go for the person with the biggest handouts, but if he's black, they give even more support, and what's so controversial about pointing that out?
If most people here were black, and a white guy who attends a church with "white" morals were to run for office, you can be DAMN sure he's getting most of the white vote.
Olbermann's an idiot, and he should kill himself for betraying white people and further putting us under the heel of the Sharptons and the Jacksons.

EvilHomer - 2008-03-20 Well, I wouldn't say that white folks are voting Obama FOR his race, but it's true that we probably wouldn't have heard of him otherwise. Democrats want to vote for Obama because they like his policies, his stage presence, and Obama Girl, but his race got his foot in the door.
I don't really see what's wrong with this, or pointing this out. These days- and, well, pretty much every day since at least the dawn of the last century- candidates for office need some kind of hook so the voting public and financial backers will recognize their faces and be willing to listen to them. Take GW, for example: if he weren't the son of George Sr, we probably would have never heard about it. His family connections got him the press he needed to make a successful bid- I doubt anyone waltzed into the voting booths back in 2000 thinking to themselves "Gosh, I sure do love nepotsim, let's vote for Dubya cuz his dad was President once". Or how about McCain and his Vietnamese tiger-cage hook? Well, same goes for Obama and his race. He's been a good senator and he's had a few noteworthy achievements so far, but nothing that would distinguish him from the herd enough to give him a shot at the Presidency... except for his race. It was novel, it was eye-catching, and as far back as 2005 I can remember it being used as a rhetorical springboard from which to discuss a potential bid. It's also a bit telling that Olbermann's closing comments are filled with appeals to the commonality of Hillary and Obama's struggles "as minority candidates"- Obama's BLACK, shucks, I didn't even NOTICE.
My biggest problem with this, however, is the torrent of Guilt by Association and Ad Hominem attacks old Keithy boy makes about half way through. Come on, people. I know (or at least hope) you're clever enough to spot shaky arguments and dirty tricks. "Why, this person sounds a bit like DAVID DUKE"- which means that maybe David Duke was right from time to time, or maybe this person made a single unfair comment while leaving the rest of her output high and dry. Of course, since people really ARE accusing her of being racist and telling her to shut up, I think Geraldine has a point here. Keith's whole "Oh, I'm not taking sides here, BUT" angle is a bit irritating, too. How dumb does he think we are? Just say "I'm for Obama, and now I'm gonna tear Hil's crew a new one", and we be set yo.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-03-20 Homer, you wonderful human being, it was the Duke comment that pissed me off about this guy in the first place. You rule.

Camonk - 2008-03-21 Yeah, I meant nobody who can type coherently. Obviously there are SOME people who believe that.

CornOnTheCabre - 2008-03-19
it's moments like this that remind me how much I love Olbermann when he's not wasting his time writing 15 minute monologues about how much he hates Bill O'Reilly
let it go man, just let it go
