Pillager - 2008-04-05 Pretty impressive for 1984 era graphics.
eatenmyeyes - 2008-04-05 Can you think of a better use of a Cray?
snothouse - 2008-04-05 Computer animators NOW are lucky to get this much expression from their characters.
fluffy - 2010-09-19 Lassetter wrote a formative computer animation paper based around how in the production of this movie they went back and relearned the lessons from traditional cel animation but applied them to 3D. It's a lesson that most studios still haven't learned, unfortunately.
Good 3D animation takes just as much effort as good 2D animation. It's just capable of doing a lot more with that effort.
Binro the Heretic - 2008-04-05 I remember seeing this back in the 1980s on a TV special about computer graphics.
Most of the other bits of digital animation featured geometric shapes. This was the only one that looked "alive."
Xenocide - 2008-04-05 The backgrounds are lovely. It's shocking to think this was made almost a quarter-century ago.
