Great movie, great series. Though I've never been able to ignore the fact that Mad Max drives AN AUTOMATIC.
Also, I hear that the gas fumes from this series is what made Mel Gibson the crazy-psycho he is now. Actually, I just made that up.

The only version of this movie I've ever seen was one that was dubbed over with American voice actors. I never understood the point of that. It didn't hurt the movie any, but still, kind of weird.

Two observations:
William Gaines appears to make a cameo as the truck stop cook.
The Nightrider appears to have triggered the secret booster rocket at the end.
Still, a boatload of awesome. Too bad about the Goose later.
