By far, the best part of this is the last five seconds.

Also, mindblowing.

If anyone knows the Aphex Twin version of Philip Glass's version of Bowie's Heroes, like, the very end of this has the exact same strange effect as the very end of that song.

They've actually been doing this for a long time in various places. In the 19th and early 20th centuries there were Italian sweatshops (mainly in Sienna) just like this to unload this sort of garbage on the status-hungry nouveau riche of America, and I imagine the new rich in the developing countries somehow feel that a mediocre, flat reproduction in paint is better than a perfect, slightly more expensive digital print or one of those new topological prints where you can actually see the mounds of paint reproduced almost perfectly. The collections of J.P. Morgan, Rockefeller and other cads of the day were thoroughly polluted with reproductions, and not by sweatshop painters looking at postcards Many of these reproductions were made by famous artists who made a living cranking out this shit on the side.

I mean if you're stupid enough to buy something that looks so absolutely terrible, go for it. This is amazing simply because of the amount of volume they are talking about and the fact that the man is selling these things for a piece.

Whatever else is true, those are some extremely talented artists. I will seriously consider finding one to send a commission if I'm ever in the market for some custom artwork.

I have to say, I'm impressed by their volume. China does everything in volume, but this is incredible. I am far more interested in that guy's original works, though. I've heard China is producing a lot of sought after gallery art now, and it's always interesting to look at the origins of an art movement.
