Now I feel justified in my obsessive compulsive need to scour the bathroom for serial killers before taking a leak.

I sincerely hope that's the black guy's voice at the end.

When I was five years old, some of my cousins & I had a sleepover at grandma's.

My uncle, who is only six years older than me, told us a variation of the "Bloody Mary" story about an crazy old man called "Bloody Bones" who used to abduct, butcher and eat children. He told us Bloody Bones could be summoned by saying his name three times in front of a mirror in a dark room with only a candle for light. He then dared us to go across the hall into the windowless bathroom and try it.

Two of my older cousins took up the challenge. They stepped across the hall and closed the door.

What they didn't know was my uncle had invited one of his friends from the neighborhood to spend the night as well. While my uncle had distracted us with the story, his friend had sneaked into the bathroom. He was hiding behind the shower curtain wearing a gorilla mask.

Good times.
