Oh god, can you imagine? He and Stephen Bisette probably had more than a few phone conversations laughing their ass off at this.
Things I bet they left out of the show from the comic:
Arcane's incestual desire for his neice Abigail.
Anything to do with demonic posession.
Any environmental issue.
The psychedelic fruit-eating/tantric sex scene between Abby and Swamp Thing.
Holy shit did they miss a prime chance to warp the minds of children.
I think the gimmick was the villains was they could like monster out or something that would replace the top half of their torso and head with some icky beast thing. But for some reason, it just looked like they stuffed a rubber snake or bug on top of the character. Man this show sucked.
It was, like everything else involving cartoons at the time, a gimmick to sell toys. The bad guy toys had these special monster helmets you could snap on top of their heads in order to...accomplish something...
