I was a bit older than you and I thought it sucked compared to Doctor Who. Except maybe for the brief part where James Doohan was the Commander. 5 stars for campiness, though.

Every morning, Jason would go up to the Commander and ask "Why so blue, commander?" Jason was later murdered under mysterious circumstances.
They're trying so hard to make it sound exciting.
So Star Command is a mustachioed commander, a doofy sidekick, and of course the lone competent guy? Great. We're saved.
