You mean that Konami 6 player x-men game. IIRC Children of the Atom is a Capcom 1 on 1 fighting game.
I'm pretty sure all arcade beatemups have the exact same gameplay. Just some have badass mutant sprites and some have faggy half animal sprites.
I'm not sure how you can steal animation from sprites, but clearly they found a way. Also the item dropping gnome from Golden Axe.
