Oh wow, i didnt know they had power rangers in japan too!

Xenocide - 2008-07-17

And then the Blue Ranger said, "So, yeah, those giant monsters are still attacking the city, you guys. A lot of people were probably killed while you were posing."

Then Yellow Ranger backhanded him.

Expected this to be some Soviet ripoff, but then there was japanese and a "blitzkrieg squadron" and whoa

They're actually seem really proud of their complete lack of originality over 25 years.

kelpfoot - 2008-07-17

That's because it's the complete lack of originality that has kept them on-air for over 25 years.

Xenocide - 2008-07-17

You've got to admire a franchise that has survived for a quarter-century by making THE EXACT SAME SHOW 25 TIMES.

Having said that, I am told that the one Red Falcon is from is full of amazing tragic drama and at the end the hero saves the world only to lose his girlfriend and then be knifed to death by a random mugger on the way to her wedding.

That alone made me search for Liveman on youtube and, as far as a Spanish-dubbed version of the last episode recorded from a shitty VHS on a Hi8 camera can tell, THERE IS NO STABBING.

I'm a sucker for sentai antics though.

This would be like having your ancestors appear before you, although I don't know if they would pose and yell like that.

Yours probably wouldn't, anyway.

TeenerTot - 2008-07-17

Does the first guy have to hold his pose until the last guy finishes?

BillFisto - 2008-07-17

Red Racer wins because he makes awesome hydraulic sounds.

I was also hoping all their various 'zords would come out and form one giant aborted-fetus-with-too-many-limbs monstrosity.

Yay! Daft Punk is here to save us!
