I know I'd trust Kermit much more than most of the analysts they usaully use.

YES

dueserpenti - 2008-07-24

Could we have Kermit explain all this to the president?

Diogenes - 2008-07-24

I'd feel better having Muppets explain all national tragedies to me. If something really really bad happens I could curl up next to the television with hot cocoa and Kermit will make it better.

Camonk - 2008-07-24

Can you imagine how much easier 9/11 would have been to swallow with some muppets explaining extremism, the different streams of Islam, and how and why buildings pancake? We might not have gone crazy for three years and invaded Iraq.

I wonder how many kids learned about the finality of death at the same time as Big Bird did.

When Mr Hooper died I mean, that makes it sound like not like Big Bird died and took some kids with him.

RockBolt - 2008-07-24

Wow, I forgot when the news actually tried to convey information and not just wrap press releases in shiny graphics

cognitivedissonance - 2008-07-24

On the plus side, Kermit, so auto-5. On the down side, deliberately assuming your audience needs the help of Muppets is extraordinarily condescending.

TheDevilsDictionary - 2008-07-24

How about extraordinarily realistic.

Camonk - 2008-07-25

Or extraordinarily awesome.

glenn - 2008-07-25

How about all three.

What still blows my mind is that some people at PoE were barely born before Jim Henson died. You can never understand quite the sense of loss those of us who grew up at his prime feel, but watching stuff like this you get an idea. I really can't wrap my head around folks who have lived their whole damn lives in a Jim-Henson-less world.

Dib - 2008-07-25

I was maybe nine when Henson died so it's not like I had an adult appreciation of any of the work, but I still recall watching Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, and the Muppet movies as a kid. Even kids right now are being raised on Sesame Street at the least, so I don't think there's really such a thing as a person not familiarized with Henson's creations.

Oh, speak for yourself. I grew up with muppets but I never really cared about them. A few of these clips are cute but not all of us are nostalgic for talking pieces of felt.

gmol - 2008-07-30

My sister did a tribute play to him in the 4th grade....some kids cared a lot.

Just because Ralph's a dog you want him to explain Ticks?

The Mothership - 2019-08-19

Absolutely brilliant.
