Is this the Rush Limbaugh of Youtube?

baleen - 2008-07-25

uh... not quite.

rulestein - 2008-07-25

I like the singlemuslim.com banner ad at the top of the screen.

Xenocide - 2008-07-25

Mine says "Prosecution of GW Bush! Ultimate Iraq War website!"

Helena Handbasket - 2008-07-25

Mine says "University of Phoenix".

I like the way he says Islamist and Islamiphobia.

heyitslozeau - 2008-07-25

Ultimate Iraq War website?

5 stars for that website title.

Pillager - 2008-07-25

''Why the Iraq War will never end.''

I made it to 6:05.

Did this pompous windbag ever explain why we're trapped in an endless quagmire based on blatant lies?

baleen - 2008-07-25

Saudi Arabia is funding the Sunni insurgency. They will not allow Iraq to be controlled by Shia, ever. As in never.

Pillager - 2008-07-26

The Shia outnumber the Sunni. It is only a matter of time before a shiite strongman takes over & finishes the ethnic cleansing.

The US will wash its hands of this problem in less than 2 years.

baleen - 2008-07-26

I highly doubt we're ever going to leave.

nubilus - 2008-07-25

Guys like this and that pussy Richard Dawkins are just as smug & hopelessly annoying as religious nuts are to me.
im agnostic for the most part because ill admit we dont know shit in the larger scheme of things. science is a tool and its been wrong before...ie canals on mars LOL WUT.
Ohhhh but if they could just understand REASON & SCIENCE and they are delusional then maybe they could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Heard that line before.
Fucking bullshit.
If you locked up Richard Dawkins or that pig Christopher Hitchens and put a single piece of bread between some Mike Tysons or Wanderlei Silvas who do believe in God in the "god wants me to kill" kind of fashion wonder how Darwin's gonna shine on that scenario...
truth is we need crazies in the world, they arent always useful (TFL Bill) but there are some that are undeniable catalysts to technological and social advancement.
id kill myself if there were just fucking coffeshop intellectual douchebag saxons smelling each others farts till the end of time.

baleen - 2008-07-25

You didn't exactly put it in the best way, but I do agree that these guys do not do atheism a favor with their condescending demeanor and their lack of addressing the fundamental need for faith and all the hope and service that it brings people, particularly among those that were not born with silver spoons in their mouths and that didn't go to Cambridge.

takewithfood - 2008-07-26

I like the way you said it, baleen. Some of these hardcore atheists seem to forget that atheism is a belief structure too. Smug confidence is counterproductive.

Adham Nu'man - 2008-07-26

>>>atheists seem to forget that atheism is a belief structure too

No, it's not.

Your retarded "NOT BELIEVING IN GOD IS A BELIEF TOO HURF DURF" bullshit is one of the most stupid arguments in the history of thinking.

If that were the case, it could also be applied to "NOT BELIEVING IN UNICORNS IS ALSO A BELIEF SYSTEM, HAHA, GOTCHA YOU UNICORN DISBELIEVERS!!! YOU ARE THE SAME AS US UNICORN BELIEVERS!!!!1".

One thing is the act of believing/disbelieving in something, another thing is a "belief system". Islam, Christianity or any other religion is a "belief system". Not believing in one does not constitute a separate belief system.

nocash - 2008-07-26

Adam, the thing is that a lot of vocal atheists treat their atheism the same way that religious people treat their religion. So while there may be differences, they're functionally acting the same.

One thing I've noticed is that the behavior is always obnoxious, even if the True Believers think that they're exempt for having The Truth on their side. Dig?

Hodge - 2008-07-26

Yes, very well put Baleen.

Adham Nu'man - 2008-07-26

I don't see this guy saying everyone should convert to atheism. What he's saying is that many radical muslim groups are using white guilt to promote themselves and their values in Western countries, which is absolutely true. He's also saying that people shouldn't chicken out and give in to this kind of bullshit.
The fact that he's a smug bastard and the fact that you don't like him does not change that what he's saying is essentially true.
In regards to people needing religion, I agree, humans at a general level do need religion. However, I don't see (at least not in this video) him saying anything against that. What he's saying is that radical muslim groups are using the racism label at their convenience, and this is working out for them because Western society is so absolutely concerned with not offending anyone (God forbid!).
