"Schappell twins" take their name from country musician Dori and sister Lori Schappell, who are a famous set of craniopagus conjoined twins, a rare congenital disorder, where the siblings' skulls are fused together. The opposite of cranipagus twins is polycephaly.

Although the Schappells share 30% of their brain matter, they do not suffer from intellectual disability; however, Dori's body is crippled by spina bifida, leading to growth retardation of the lower body. Dori designed her own wheelchair based on a bar stool because no existing chair could accommodate her need to be at the same height of her sister (to avoid back, neck, and cranial strain).

The twinning-set in this video is unique in that it appears they are "more fused" than the Schappells. I am interested to know if and how this increase in shared brain matter has affected or impaired their intellect, and whether they "share" any brain functions, including impulses, emotions, nervous sensation, or even thoughts. Of further note is that the spina bifida twin in this set is physically reversed from its twin.
