Uh oh, republicans with delusions of funny. We shall see.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-16

Delusions of funny? Clearly you haven't read a synopsis of the movie:

"Patton and his soldiers storm a courthouse that's about to remove the Ten Commandments and start opening fire on the people trying to stop them. "You can't shoot these people!" Malone says. "They're not people!" says Patton. "They're the ACLU!" At this point we see that the ACLU members are unkillable George Romero zombies."

Hahaha. Comedy gold.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-15

Ooh, timely!

I suppose I have to give it credit for not being just a never-ending series of fat jokes and nut-shots. Its not really better though.

dancingshadow - 2008-08-15

I can't decide if it's more unfunny or anti-funny.

coprolalia - 2008-08-15

You are dead to me, James Woods!

Binro the Heretic - 2008-08-15

Yeah, seeing him suddenly pop up there was like seeing Mr. Rogers slap a small child.

JAMES, HOW COULD YOU?

coprolalia - 2008-08-15

THAT'S NOT WHAT I SAID, BINRO

Xenocide - 2008-08-15

Republicans are still incapable of laughing at themselves. The most interesting there here, though, is that Kelsey Grammar seems to make a surprisingly decent Patton.

So which critics do you think O'Reilly will start hate campaigns against when this gets panned into the ground?

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-15

I'm sure the NYT and MSNBC will bear most of the brunt, with conservative papers who pan it getting ignored. Meanwhile bloggers like "NorrisWBush" will be elevated to the status of authoritative icons for cultural matters. Also RottenTomatoes will be linked to George Soros.

Xenocide - 2008-08-15

Oh, and I just checked and it seems like it's being released on the week which happens to have the most film releases of the entire year, with no less than 11 films coming out (including Stanley Kubrick's lost masterpiece, Beverly Hills Chihuahua.)

You know you've got a classic on your hands when the studio regulates it to the biannual Dump Off Your Crap release week (although Appaloosa comes out that week, too, which looks pretty great.)

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2008-08-15

You know, "Springtime for Hitler" was funny because it was done by Jews, not by, you know, HITLER.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-15

Hitler made An American Carol?!

Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2008-08-16

I love you billy. You need some chocolate.

Rudy - 2008-08-15

Did David Zucker just pronounce himself "The Master of Movie Satire" and then use it in a blurb for his own movie?

Was George S. Patton generally known for slapping people indiscriminately?

Am I reading too much into this?

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2008-08-15

At least tell me you got the joke about how the fat man wants everyone in America to have access to health care.

Geez.

Xenocide - 2008-08-15

Well, Patton certainly knew how to slap a jap.

And YOU can too, when you buy war bonds!

GoodAaron - 2008-08-15

Short answer: yes.

KnowFuture - 2008-08-16

No, David Zucker just pronounced himself "The Master of Movie Satire" and then used it as the ONLY blurb for his own movie.

Killer Joe - 2008-09-23

Oooooh, I thought they were making Patton out to be a limp wristed bitch. Which would have been counter to this film.

Daymage - 2008-08-15

Ooh, 2,000 theaters Bill O'.

Hailey2006 - 2008-08-15

You know you're films in trouble when Gary Coleman has cameo!

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-15

Dude, it has Rosie O'Donnell... it's gonna be good.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-16

Actually its got "Rosie O'Connell". So, no.

theSnake - 2008-08-15

I understand the D list stars doing this, but the rest of them are on my shit list. David Alan Grier WTF BRO, WTF.

garcet71283 - 2008-08-15

It has less to do with Republicans being unfunny and more to do with the only funny people in Hollywood are Jews.

revdrew - 2008-08-15

Is the Freeper demographic really large enough to justify this?

Syd Midnight - 2008-08-17

They'll bring their family, friends, and a bus full of old people to see it.

Hooker - 2008-08-15

Looks like he's got all of Chris Farley's charisma, too.

RomancingTrain - 2008-08-15

Et to, Kelsey? I always thought Frasier was supposed to be a good natured ribbing of the effeminate Left-Coast elite. Has he always been a Republican, or did he become a 9-11 Republican when one of his show's producers died in 9-11?

I'm still holding out hope that he's a whore.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-16

Don't know about Fraiser, but the director Zucker is a fear based convertee.

Doctor Frederick Odd - 2008-08-16

Oh, he's a whore. Just recently Fox gave him a come back show and now he has to prove his loyalty to the network.

Baby Finster - 2008-08-16

Dennis Hopper?

andybrownie - 2010-02-14

This, this is beyond sick.
