If it's not Bruce Timm it ain't gonna get five stars.

At least it looks miles better than The Batman, or Justice League for that matter.

Rovin - 2008-08-21

Looks fun.

Also... Justice League was one of Timm's babies, wasn't it? I mean, his look's all over that show. And it's really well written, at least in my opinion.

Camonk - 2008-08-21

Yeah, Justice League was Timm. It was also pretty awesome most of the time. This though... I don't know.

Rovin - 2008-08-21

Yeah, it may not be as cool - particularly writing-wise - as the Timm productions, but, on the other hand, it looks like an animated Batman series I might actually be able to let my 4 year old watch, and that'd be a nice change.

Xenocide - 2008-08-21

It's being directed by a guy who is a huge fan of the old Adam West show. Which may or may not be a good thing. I just have to wonder how kids weaned on The Dark Knight are going to react to it.

afp3683 - 2008-08-21

I'm giving it 5 stars and there ain't no one around with more DC Comics nerd rage than I.

There is no fundamental dissonence between Dark Knight angstdeedledee and The Batman Show campdeedledum. They can both work to sell the hero. Just keep repeating it to yourself like a mantra.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2008-08-22

Yes I know Justice League was totally Bruce Timm at work. It also gave Batman stupidly-long ears for no discernible reason. Plus, while I know many have given high praise to Justice League's story arcs, I guess I just kinda liked the original cartoon's tightly written, episodic plots and film noir look better.

Xenocide - 2008-08-21

I can see how Batman would need help from other superheroes to take down Kite-Man.

I mean, he's got kites.

Cheese - 2008-08-21

Kites kill an amazing amount of Pakistanis every year. I am fully in support of THe Batman taking out this horrible threat to humanity.

ponpoko - 2008-08-21

Batman punching out a top hatted, monocled zombie with brass knuckles = automatic 5 stars

plus that theme song fucking rocks

takewithfood - 2008-08-21

The theme song rocks because it's basically the theme from The Tick.

Rovin - 2008-08-21

Dinosaur chewing on Plastic Man...

Camonk - 2009-08-13

It's exactly because of stuff like this that makes me deeply regret my 3 star rating. This show is great.

Hooper_X - 2008-08-21

Looks fun! Shame about the Blue Beetle, though.

Xenocide - 2008-08-21

This Blue Beetle is awesome, though.

freedoom - 2008-08-21

If Blue Beetle is in it that should mean we will get Booster Gold!

Chip - 2008-08-21

I'm fine with the new Beetle, though I question how well that design will mesh with the more Golden Age type guys. I'm thinking he should look more like a luchadore.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-21

Only Batman would dare bring together the brave AND the bold!

IrishWhiskey - 2008-08-21

Venture Brothers flashbacks deserve five, so this does too.

Also yeah, can't get much more awesome than Batman using brass knuckles on a fancy zombie. Unless maybe the zombie had been wearing a top hat.

B. Weed - 2008-08-21

Supposedly R. Lee Ermey is going to voice Wildcat in an episode.

Plus Plastic Man! Maybe this'll make up for that shitastic '80s series.

charmlessman - 2008-08-21

Five Stars for Plastic Man being chewed like gum.

Also, The Bold and the Brave? Is this a Batman soap opera?

namtar - 2008-08-21

The Brave and the Bold was a superhero team up book, most of which involved Batman teaming up with someone else.

Merzbau - 2010-01-27

There are so many reasons to give this five stars, but for now I'll just settle on the Gentleman Ghost.
