"I am mad at the republicans because democrats refused to close the border, and co-signed NAFTA into existence during the reign of a Democratic president. Also, feminism has nothing to do with having to have both parents working nowadays, especially since the housing market isn't based upon the maximum amount a buyer can afford, and having two people working means rapid inflation of house prices."

The first person to mention that this guy is probably retarded is a POS.

baleen - 2008-08-29

...Co-signed into existence with hotly debated labor and environmental addenda. It was also a Republican majority who attempted to have these removed, vying instead to stick with Bush's original plan. The original plan was signed during the Bush administration. NAFTA was Bush's idea, not Clinton's. Clinton just messed up the Republican free market plan a little bit with NAALC and NAAEC.

Now somehow it is entirely Bill Clinton's fault for the disasters that free market capitalism have created. Including but not limited to large amounts of unskilled immigrant labor being more of a cornerstone of our economy than it has ever been before. Republicans WANTED that. NAFTA means more corporate profits, more economic growth, more fluid labor, and more trickling down.

DAMN YOU FEMINISM FOR RUINING THIS POOR MAN'S LIFE!!!

chumbucket - 2008-08-29

Barney Smith for president

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-29

Barney Smith: Strong evidence that not everyone in Middle America is stupid enough to fall for the Republicans' tricks.

Repeatedly, at least.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-29

Yeah, because his company definitely didn't leave the country because our corporate taxes are the highest in the world in 24 of our states.

Camonk - 2008-08-29

Billy Buttsex: Proud defender of the multi-national corporation!

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-29

Here's the sad part: I think classically liberal approaches to global trade would be beneficial if we had lower taxes, which Democrats oppose. And I think higher taxes might be okay... without as much classically liberal trading policy. Unfortunately, with Democrats tugging one way and Republicans the other, everyone benefits except the American people and the environment, because we have the ability for corporations to ditch us because of the crappy taxes here.

It's like they're pulling in opposite directions, and even though I think the Republican model is better than the Democratic model (Republican being "freer"--not free--trade with lower domestic taxation), I would greatly prefer the Democratic idea of higher taxes with more tariffs to this hobgob we've got now. It's like we've chosen the shittiest of routes to take.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-29

TL;DR

Aoi - 2008-08-29

cool story, bro

StanleyPain - 2008-08-29

Only someone with a very, very weak grasp of American history would seriously try to blame the corporate state of affairs on the Democrats. In fact, you'd have to be retarded. Thankfully, Billy fits the bill!!

Politicans from both parties can be blamed for a whole variety of woes on this subject. Both parties definitely opened the door and put their toes inside. But, again, only with a weak grasp of history can one not acknowledge, without question, that if you want to know the political party who went inside that door, moved furniture in, and started living there, it was unquestionably the Republicans. And not "classical" Republicans, but the ultra-corrupt, born-again breed of Republicans who started emerging in the late 70s-mid-80s.
And anyone who seriously doesn't think "Reaganomics" wasn't at LEAST 80% responsible for a multitude of economic problems lasting decades is, again, retarded.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2008-08-29

I'm always blown away when Billy takes the time to write something as long as that. Literacy is within is his grasp.

Cleaner82 - 2008-08-29

What? Preserving national skintone and hue? 'Blah blah blah no black presidents', what?

To address your secondary point Billy, I am a conservative at heart. I believe a smaller government is a better government. 'Conservatives', however, are not conservative. Every time the power of the already-bloated government expands I hear a ragged cheer from the red states, so here we are on opposite sides.

Cleaner82 - 2008-08-29

"Government power" is not just the level of taxation, as you well know, and supposed conservatives will use bullshit like 'economic stimulus checks' and lower taxes as a smokescreen for what they're actually doing -- seizing too much power. Meanwhile as a result of tax-phobia we continue to buy shit we cannot afford and sink deeper into debt.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-29

My impression of StanleyPain: "anyone who thinks against what I think is retarded and doesn't know history. It is clearly the other guys. I will not try to explain anything because I am so right."

baleen - 2008-08-29

Wow Billy, you have absolutely no concept of how the U.S. economy works. Please get a subscription to the Economist at least.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-08-29

My impression of Baleen:

"Even though Billy just called someone out for calling names and not providing substance, I will now call him names and not provide any substance. I KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW NOTHING. I WILL NOT PROVIDE EXAMPLES. GET A MAGAZINE SO THAT PEOPLE CAN TELL YOU HOW TO THINK LIKE ME."

citrusmirakel - 2008-08-29

"Put Barney Smith ahead of Smith Barney"?

Fire that speechwriter.

Jeff Fries - 2008-08-29

That's the only reason he was put on the stand, numbnuts.
