"Bang."

Nice touch.

I won't miss most of the shows, though.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2008-09-21

Yeah, Toonami was on a steady downhill after it moved to weekends only.

Ah well. Good memories nonetheless.

P.S. Couldn't they just have had the classic Tom design for the final sign-off instead of that stupid-as-hell one I've never seen before?

Hooper_X - 2008-09-21

Tom, nothing. I remember when fucking MOLTAR was the host and it was nothing but Thundercats and Voltron. Still, good times, good times.

themilkshark - 2008-09-21

Yah I dug the Moltar days of Toonami. Would've been cool to see a nod to that.

giygusattack - 2008-09-21

I enjoyed Moltar hosting as well. It was fun to imagine all of Cartoon Network being run like Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast.

For somebody who doesn't watch a lot of anime, I watched a lot of Toonami.

garcet71283 - 2008-09-21

Ya, the Moltar days introduced me to Robotech... I was all like "holy crap a mech show!"

sosage - 2008-09-21

POELJ: I moved out of my parent's house and into my first shit hole apartment when Toonami first aired. It was during that time in life where I worked any dead end job and faced eviction from my unheated, no AC death trap of a dwelling with every shitty paycheck. It was cool to forget I was trying to be an adult for a couple hours watching Robotech/Thundercats again.

Moltar years were cool as hell just for the individual show ads. It's been said by others, but those ads made the worst shows look cool as fuck. That "new" host was enh.

I guess this is sad, in that it went out on such a bleh/lame note (I haven't watched Toonami in years...but that host looks stupid as hell). Long live Adult Swim then!

Cena_mark - 2008-09-21

Cry weeaboo cry. -4 stars cause that leap off the cliff wasn't suicide.

Keefu - 2008-09-21

hey, shut up

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2008-09-21

Pfft. What do you know about suicide.

Cena_mark - 2008-09-21

I know weeaboo losers should do it when Toonami gets canceled.

Udderdude - 2008-09-21

I think at this point there isn't any sand in your vagina. Your vagina is actually made of sand.

Zarathustra00 - 2008-09-21

This is what happens when we fail in our obligation to feed the trolls here; they begin to cry for attention. Someone's gonna have to take one for the team and post a video of McCain/Palin screwing up to appease them.

Also, 5'd for reminding me of how much I miss the old Toonami and Adult Swim.

Cleaner82 - 2008-09-21

Oh, go back to your fucking hole Mark.

bac - 2008-09-21

Damnit I thought you got banned you wretched fuck.

B. Weed - 2008-09-21

Hey, Cena pulled his tongue out of Buttsex's ass long enough to post. Lucky old us.

lieutenant halfabeef - 2008-09-21

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he got banned, too. What happened?

tamago - 2008-09-21

One of PoETV's most annoying trolls hated this. Why am I not surprised?

Keefu - 2008-09-21

The Doors, the Outsiders and Bebop all referenced. Class.

Monchiles Monchiles - 2008-09-21

The end of an era.

MrBuddy - 2008-09-21

First "Cartoon" Network cancels popular animated shows replacing them with bad live action shows and then they reduce anime until it's nearly gone and cancel Toonami. Whoever is in charge of Cartoon Network needs to be handed his ,000,000 severance package, ,000,000 cash bonus and ,000,000 stock options and fired. But to the guys who put in the effort to create the Toonami goodbye animation and not leaving us wondering what happened, I'd like to say thank you. Like Keefu said you've got class.

fluffy - 2008-09-21

I had no idea Toonami was even still running, what with all the anime having been moved to Adult Swim anyway.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-09-21

Thank you for helping me utterly waste my first years out of high school. God knows how horrible they would've been without you.

I wonder if Adult Swim's final broadcast will be as sentimental.

Xenocide - 2008-09-21

I'm surprised how much this little farewell got to me, considering I haven't watched Toonami in years. Childhood, etc.

This was an awesome block in its heyday, but the time seemed right to pull the plug. Still, it will be missed. Especially for its badass video mixes.

DMKA - 2008-09-21

Even though I stopped watching Toonami back whenever Sailor Moon and Reboot were still on and it was hosted by short fat Tom, this news made me kinda sad.

:'[

tamago - 2008-09-21

Your rating confuses me. I thought you hated anime, man.

Keefu - 2008-09-21

Toonami played western cartoons too

DMKA - 2008-09-24

Reboot was not anime. Nor was The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Voltron, The Powerpuff Girls, Thundercats, Batman Beyond, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Teen Titans (though it may as well have been) or a number of other shows on Toonami over the years.

Although way back when, like pre-8th grade, I did watch Sailor Moon and DBZ, and I still have perhaps a tiny bit of nostalgic feelings for both deep within my heart, under all the damaged arteries. That's about as far as my tolerance of anime goes though.

tl:dr, etc.

Hooker - 2008-09-21

Toon-what-i?

Maggot Brain - 2008-09-21

Its a bit funny that the end of Toonami just happed to coincide with my twenty-first birthday.

Hooper_X - 2008-09-21

Holy christ, you guys are making me feel *old*. I was watching Toonami in *college.* In *1997.*

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-09-22

I'm staying gold, until we meet again.

Obligatory *sniff*

rroach - 2008-10-08

The only thing I remember about Toonami was that the host's voice signaled the start of shitty cartoons. So three stars for the warning voice.

(I thought 'bang' in one the comments and the leap = suicide myself.)
