I'm a Met fan and this is basically the last year that I will ever be able to afford going to the games. This year and last year I could get tickets for and sit up with the bookies behind the home base, the wind blows constantly through the top decks, so even if it was humid and hot and terrible it was cool up there, while all the rich people roasted with their front row seats.
The thing about the Mets is that they have a huge Latin fan base, mostly working class, and when they tear down Shea it's going to be a Long Island fan base. Totally suburban. They are making one of the worst mistakes ever, and there's no reason for it.
I'd be ok if the new stadium didn't cut 10,000 seats off. I guess I'll just get into minor league baseball or something. It will be too depressing to watch the mets next year.
