No matter how FUTURISTIC Star Trek claims to be, they always seem to reflect the era in which they were filmed.
Like that episode of Voyager where they go to LA in the 90s and everything is really bright, everyone is on rollerblades, and Janeway attempts to type on a KEYBOARD connected to a PERSONAL COMPUTER
OR like every early episode of Next Generation with terribly angular or poofy hair.

Voyager was pretty 90's in that they took the old star trek diversity theme to the x-treme and then mixed it with Lost in Space.

a female captain, a black Vulcan, a half-alien engineer, an artificial life form for a doctor, a native american first officer, a half-borg science officer(?)/eye candy.

Now that I think about it though, I can't think of any hispanic star trek characters.
