I hated the original so goddamn much but it was all worth it to set this up.

Corman's Inferno - 2008-10-25

Wow. Not enough campaign commercials mix suicide and slapstick.

simon666 - 2008-10-25

Yeah this was good.

simon666 - 2008-10-25

Also: I think Barak Obama is not only going to be the first black man to be President of the US, but he may in fact be the first black man to be elected to head of state of any western country... As retarded and backwards as we are in the US, are we going to be this progressive?

I've only researched Canada, Britain, Spain, France, and Germany. Perhaps some small country has done it first? Can anyone verify this?

dueserpenti - 2008-10-25

What other Western countries are there? Nope, this one is ours.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-10-25

"This is my Western country. There are many like it, but this one is mine."

The Faghorn - 2008-10-25

First world? English speaking?

There has to be something. I can't wait until Nov. 5th, I want America to be progressive again nooooooow. D:

Syd Midnight - 2008-10-26

I still think of it as finally being able to start the 21st century.

Tstyle - 2008-11-03

Belize

Comatose2 - 2008-10-25

wazzap!

freedoom - 2008-10-25

wow.... that was amazing.

wtf japan - 2008-10-25

Wow, you really need to rewatch the original to see how brilliant this is. Amazing.

vissarion - 2008-10-25

Nice

fluffy - 2008-10-25

Holy crap it's been 8 years already?

I didn't even realize the original came out when the current shitty administration was getting ready to swoop in and fuck us all. It's like it's gone full circle in some odd way.

Badassimo - 2008-10-25

That's some double-reverse-future brilliance right there.

kiint - 2008-10-25

well played gentlemen, well played

badideasinaction - 2008-10-25

Made me laugh. Made me cringe. Damn.

Cap'n Profan!ty - 2008-10-25

Is this actually airing? Fuck, it'd better.

plaid_knight - 2008-10-29

I agree. It'd be great if they ran this.

Testicles of Doom - 2008-10-25

Brill.

Spoonybard - 2008-10-25

Yes

Chip - 2008-10-25

Until the end, I didn't even make the connection that the original was for Anheuser-Busch. So bonus stars for that.

SolRo - 2008-10-25

awesome

Cena_mark - 2008-10-25

I hate how the commercial encourages people to blame Bush for their problems. Its Bush's fault I was too irresponsible to buy health insurance. Its Bush's fault I was fired. Bush caused Hurricane Katrina. And then to complete the socialist agenda of the commercial it ends by saying "Turn to Obama, turn to government, we'll solve all your problems" Damn it I want government out of my way. Government is the obstacle to people trying to solve their problems.

simon666 - 2008-10-25

Not all our problems. Just the problems we think can be solved collectively as opposed to individually. American history shows us government, when taking a hands off approach, is not compatible with our sense of morality in this country.

You forget that government gets its sole authority from a mandate by the people. The government is ours to do with what we please. It in a sense the product of an unspoken social agreement within society that says: "We all have busy lives and are not capable of committing to large scale projects, therefore we agree to allow government to act as our liaison."

Mike Tyson?! - 2008-10-25

The government isn't to blame for anything. :(

godot - 2008-10-25

Just thing about it as a lighthearted riposte to Reagan's "Are you better off now then you were four years ago." Carter wasn't responsible for Vietnam era deficits flowing into price inflation, or the Arab-Israeli wars resulting in gas lines.

One of Obama's biggest problems is that the problems we face are at least 28 years in the making. They won't be solved in one term, and a lot of enthusiasm will be lost as this recession/depression grinds to its conclusion.

So, we got Laffer fiscal policy, Gramm deregulation, and archaic Ricardo free-trade for 28 years. It was a noble experiment. The result is flat to down real median incomes, and concentration of wealth. I think we can note the results and inch back to the control state that existed from WWII to 1980.

I think its perfectly reasonable to blame Bush for an ill-considered war in Iraq sold on a pack of lies, deregulation of investment banks and the mortgage broker industry, a lack of any substantive action whatsoever on greenhouse emissions, inaction leading to an increasing amount of medical costs going to insurance cos and related overhead, and the widespread governmental appointments based on loyalty rather than expertise.

grimcity - 2008-10-25

None of us think Bush caused Katrina, you simple fuck.

Cap'n Profan!ty - 2008-10-25

But climate change is of course real and we're doing not nearly enough to address it, which is definitely a problem (like the others) that's reached fullest crisis proportions in the last eight years. But the point about this being the most wasteful, highest-spending administration in history? Absolutely true. Jesus Christ, what could we have done here at home with the damn billions we've been pouring into total and complete stupidity?

We cost ourselves the equivalent of 9/11's direct fiscal damage every five days in Iraq. Not counting Iraqis, we incur its casualties every few years. Counting Iraqis, that falls to a week or two.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-10-25

Alright, name something Bush has done to further health care or make the economy better.

Dumbass.

Muddy Mae Suggins - 2008-10-26

If you want government out of your way you should probably abandon the Republican party. No one can say that the Dems are for "big government" and the repubs are for "less government and states rights." Not after the last 8 years.

Harold Manchester - 2009-06-08

I think Bush caused Katrina.

KnowFuture - 2009-06-10

I don't blame Bush.

I blame Cena_Mark and all the rest of Bush's apologists/supporters. It's not like Bush elected himself. Not entirely, anyway.

Camonk - 2008-10-25

Man, where the hell did THAT come from?

jreid - 2008-10-25

This was surprisingly excellent.

Hooper_X - 2008-10-25

Flawless victory.

longwinded - 2008-11-02

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-01-18

FRIENDSHIP? FRIENDSHIP?!

TeenerTot - 2008-10-25

That's...really cool.

Sputum - 2008-10-25

I really hope Obama gets elected so he can fix the weather.

oogaBooga - 2008-11-17

Hilarious, but you picked the one thing that nobody believes bush is responsible for.

Oh well, better luck next time.

Cheese - 2008-10-25

This is the best 2008 campaign commercial by about 10,000%.

Also, hurricanes.

RockBolt - 2008-10-25

EPIC

John_hmstr - 2008-10-25

best political ad of the year hands down

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-10-25

This really was the best ad ever.

Stopheles - 2008-10-25

It really does make the original version worthwhile, eight years later. That, right there, is a goddamned miracle.

KillerGazebo - 2008-10-25

http://www.youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com %2Fv%2F2GWrrTpJ1eU&video2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fv%2FQq8Uc 5BFogE

Try to time it as best you can. Amazing results.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2008-10-26

YES

Cube - 2008-10-26

Nope

Mayberry Pancakes - 2008-11-01

I never thought a commercial where a dude tries to hang himself would make me smile so much at the end.

LetsFistAgain - 2008-11-03

"Still in Iraq. Brought you my ass"(?)

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-11-04

Watching my ass. Watching.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-11-09

Watching this post-election brought a huge smile to my face.

FineFilter - 2008-12-01

Until it got political this was the best thing ever. It kinda killed the joke I thought.

Cleaner82 - 2009-02-21

The uh...

... the whole thing was political.

CharlesSmith - 2009-03-10

So to you the joke was "some people are saying WASSAP also they're hurt"

tiermann - 2009-02-12

good

Cleaner82 - 2009-02-21

Jesus Christ, has it been eight years? Time, she flies.

kingofthenothing - 2009-02-24
