I knew jackshit about sugar gliders before this video, but oddly I always, oh always, knew they were a ridiculously bad choice for a household pet due to the fact that people only ever bought them because they look cute.

One of my friends mums used to buy pets all the time: they had three 'indoor' cats, two 'outdoor' cats, terrapins, turtles, birds, rabbits, a dog that pissed on the floor everyday, and a chipmunk. The chipmunk lived in a cage in the kitchen and when they let it out, it fell from the ceiling and died. Solution: they bought another chipmunk and never let it out of its cage. At least she never bought a sugar glider, I guess.

People who buy pets on impulse: trashy. People who horde animals: broken.

Sugar gliders will take your car out for joyrides in the middle of the night.

I appreciate this video though because it's good for those idiots that just buy pets because "they're cool" without realizing that you have to like, actually take care of them.

Years ago I wanted one of these so badly I couldn't stand it but after some research found out about the huge drawbacks. I was willing to tolerate just about the whole thing except the fact that they were incontinent piss factories.

They are actually illegal in some states because they have the potential to destroy the ecosystem if freed.

Do not trust sugar gliders. If a sugar glider lands on you, keep your hand on your wallet at all times.
